The Senate has ordered the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) to refund the N603 million mismanaged from the N2.4 billion it generated internally.
The chamber gave the order through its Public Accounts Committee (SPAC), which sustained the query of the Auditor General of the Federation against the school on the said financial mismanagement.
The Auditor General had raised concerns in the 2017 report over mismanagement of N603 million out of N2.4 billion generated internally by institution.
The university was expected to remit the money to the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) which was the 25 percent of the revenue generated in the institution.
However, the Vice- Chancellor, AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, while responding before the Senator Mathew Uroghide-led Committee, claimed that the internally generated revenue was not enough to run the affairs of the institution.
