Sergeant arrested with two locally made guns, two ID cards, charms
The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the activities of a serving Sergeant identified as Jimoh Ibrahim, attached to Sagamu Road Division, alleged to have unlicensed guns and charms.
The policeman was arrested at a hotel in Ikorodu: Skyhomes Lounge and Bar, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
This followed a tip-off to the police.
Ibrahim had in his possession two locally made Bereta Pistols, 13 live ammunition, expended 9mm ammunition, charms, three iPhone 12, Techno Phone, two police identity cards bearing his name, and four Automated Teller Machine cards of different banks.
He was arrested by policemen attached to Ikorodu Division on July 17, 2022 at about 9:30pm.
Ibrahim, with F/No. 508662, told the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ikorodu Division that he was a serving policeman working with the Sagamu Road Division.
He has since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja for further investigation.
When contacted, the Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said there was no such report yet before him.
