South Africa’s Tshego Gaelae wins Mrs World

South African model and beauty queen, Tshego Gaelae, has made history as she emerged victorious at the 40th edition of the Mrs World pageant, which took place in Las Vegas, USA.

Gaelae, who represented South Africa, outshone contestants from across the globe to clinch the prestigious title.

The grand event saw Sri Lanka’s Ishadi Amanda named first runner-up, while Thailand’s Ploy Panperm secured the second runner-up spot.

Expressing her joy, Gaelae took to Instagram to celebrate her win, saying, “To God Be The Glory. Thank you so much for the love and support, I am beyond grateful and elated! My beautiful South Africa, the crown is coming Home.”

Her victory marks a significant moment for South Africa, as she becomes the first Black woman to win the Mrs World title in its 40-year history.

The Mrs World pageant, founded in 1984, is dedicated to celebrating the beauty and achievements of married women worldwide.

The Mrs South Africa organisation, which played a key role in her journey, also rejoiced over her win.

In a social media post, they wrote, “From Soweto to Vegas and now the World, @mrsworldpageant The Crown is Coming Home! Thank you to everyone who supported our Queen on her incredible Journey.”

The organisation further praised the Mrs World judges for recognising Gaelae’s brilliance, stating that her win was not only a personal triumph but also a proud moment for South Africa.
