Stop Torturing Our Members – IPOB Warns Ghanaian President
IPOB, the Indigenous People of Biafra, issued a warning to Ghanaian President Nana Akufua Ado on Wednesday, urging him to stop cooperating with the Nigerian government in suppressing pro-Biafra protesters.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the Ghanaian government should stop harassing and torturing IPOB members in Ghana, according to IPOB.
The threat was delivered by Emma Powerful, the separatist group’s spokesman, in response to the purported arrest of 82 IPOB members in Ghana.
Some IPOB members were arrested in Ghana during a meeting, according to Powerful.
While some of those arrested were deported to Nigeria, he revealed that the whereabouts of others remained unclear.
“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), brilliantly led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the arrest, intimidation, harassment, and relentless torture and humiliation of Biafrans living in Ghana by the Ghana government and its security agencies,” Powerful said in a statement.
“It is regrettable that Ghana’s government has become a willing partner to Nigeria’s tyrannical Fulani-controlled government in suppressing the struggle for Biafra restoration.
BIAFRA, on the other hand, is unstoppable, no matter how hard the enemy try!
“We recall Ghana’s role in the terrible war waged against the decent people of Biafra between 1967 and 1970.
IPOB will never forget how Ghana refused to assist Biafra’s children throughout the annihilation war waged by the Nigerian government, aided by British authorities, in their failed attempt to wipe Biafra off the face of the planet.
“It is terrible and unfortunate that the Ghanaian government and security forces were able to arrest 107 Biafrans resident in the nation during their monthly meeting.
Detain and deport 25 of them to Nigeria, while the rest went missing.
Our family in Ghana is still searching for them, and we are advising the good people of Ghana to look for our relatives in Ghana and hand them over to the Biafran authorities, or face the consequences.
“In Ghana, we are hunting for 82 Biafran citizens. Ghana detained two Biafra nationals for two years and held them incommunicado in Ghana prisons for two weeks without bringing them to court.
“The Ghanaian administration, commanded by Nana Dankwa Akufua Ado, and his security agencies have recently reignited their enmity for Biafrans.
Ghana’s government and its criminal accomplices have been cracking down on Biafra enterprises in Ghana since 2019. This is pure depravity.
“We are urging Ghanaians and friends of Ghana President John Kufuor to remind him that he should stop cooperating with Nigeria’s Fulani-controlled federal government in oppressing Biafra. We’re keeping track of everything. Because of his self-interest, Nana Ado should not be permitted to make Ghana everlasting enemies of Biafra.”
