Immigration passport appointment date is fraud and waste of Nigeria peoples time.
This is due to the extention of passport appointment which has not been so from way back.
This is the worst regime of Nigeria Immigration service head of office from DCG in charge of passport Mrs Dupe who has refused to leave after her retirement date to the CG Isa to the minister of interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola, all they are doing is to make life miserable for Nigerians.
First of all, since the beginning of E-passport in 2007, everybody can go on line and make payment and apply for their passports then come to the passport office with all requirements needed and will be captured almost immediately and in no time, the Passport is ready.
Back then, the minor fee 0-17 while those who are 60 years and above fee is lesser than those who are of ages 18-59.
All Passport Comptrollers were working perfectly until this new regime came in and increased the passport fee resulting to everybody paying the same amount to own a passport.
They also introduced an appointment date whereby after applying for the passport, capturing will be after 3 months of submitting the application.
This is so appalling as those with medical cases, those who came in from abroad for short stay, emergency cases will be denied getting a passport in time because there are no booklets to produce the passports.
The Passport comptrollers officers are now made useless because the DCG passport and CG are the ones in charge of issuing dates which they use for their their own people to capture at their convenience while they deceive Nigerians that they can now apply online as if the system has been improved but rather, they have made it worse and have refused to leave the system after retirement and bribing their way for more time in the office.
I don’t understand this corruption in high place, they have even forgotten that the immigration work is far more than just passport application .
Passport application is one of the easiest job of the Nigerian immigration and it does not concern CG or DCG passport or sending task force to passport office, let the passport comptrollers officers manage there office, give them booklets to work at lesst Nigerians have paid for it .
Tell Nigerians to pay online as required and go to the immigration processing office for capturing.
The DCG passport,CG and minister of interior have given the Government a bad name because of the selfish interest. so many passport office have so much backlog of passport and keep on sending task force with small amount of booklet to do what.
When passport office have hard working Passport comptrollers and officers, release booklet to them and cancel this appointment date sage let go back to the process of 2007 when Retired CG udeh who introduce Epassport was incharge when things are working not this fraudulent lying present of DCG and CG making Nigerians beg and paying lots of money for date wavier what is even date wavier? something needs to be done immediately
The major problem of the Nigeria Immigration service passport section is booklet. If the passport office have enough booklet to work, this Appointment date and all the lying of the CG deceiving Nigerians about different progression will not be needed.
So the question Nigerians are asking is that what happens to our booklet money we pay to government?
The minister for interior recently assured Nigerians that it will take three weeks for renewal and 6 weeks for fresh passports, but unfortunately people are being delayed due to shortage of booklet.
