The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) says winners have emerged in the 2024 oil block licensing bid round.
The commission announced the winners at the licensing round commercial bid conference held in Lagos on Wednesday.
The NUPRC said 16 companies won 19 oil blocks while seven were reserve bidders.
According to the commission, Sifax and RoyalGate consortium won petroleum prospecting licence (PPL) 300-DO as well as PPL 304-DO.
Also, the NUPRC said OceanGate Engineering Oil and Gas Ltd won PPL 302-DO and PPL 3007, MRS Oil & Gas won PPL 303-DO, and Hakilat Oil & Gas Consortium Ltd clinched PPL 305-DO and PPL 3016.
Likewise, BISWAL Oil & Gas Ltd got PPL 306-DO and PPL 2002; Petroli Energy Marketing and Supply Ltd got PPL 269, and Sahara Deepwater Resources Ltd won both PPL 270 and PPL 271, according to the commission.
More so, the agency said Panout Oil & Gas won PPL 300/301 CS as well as PPL 3015, TotalEnergies E&P won PPL 2000/2001, and First E&P Development got PPL 2003 and PPL 2006.
The commission said Deywayles International Limited secured PPL 2004; Applefield Oil & Gas got PPL 2005 and 3017; R28 Holdings Ltd won PPL 2007 and PPL 3011; Tulcan Energy E&P won PPL 2008 and 3012; and Broron Energy got PPL 2009.
The NUPRC named reserve bidders, who were defeated by the winning bidders, to include Nigerian National Petroleum Company E&P Limited, Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Ltd, Afagaf Company Ltd, AMP E&P Company Ltd, RBO Energy Services Ltd, Petroli Energy Marketing and Supply Ltd, and Star Deepwater Petroleum Ltd.
Speaking at the event, Gbenga Komolafe, NUPRC’s chief executive officer (CEO), said the commission will launch another oil block licensing bid round in 2025, focusing on undeveloped fields.(The Cable)
