Tottenham confirms buy-back clause for Harry Kane

Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur, has confirmed the club’s ability to re-sign Harry Kane from Bayern Munich in the future.

Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, addressed this issue during a fans’ forum on Tuesday night, acknowledging the existence of a buy-back clause for the England striker.

However, he did not provide specific details regarding the terms and figures related to this buy-back option.

Harry Kane himself had not ruled out the possibility of returning to Tottenham when he announced his departure from the club in August.

Since joining Bayern Munich, Kane has been in exceptional form, scoring four goals in his first four matches for the Bundesliga champions.

Tottenham will have first dibs on re-signing Kane with the buy-back clause. This agreement is similar to the one Spurs have with Real Madrid in the Gareth Bale purchase.

In practise, if another English club makes an offer for Kane while he is still at Bayern Munich and that offer is accepted by Bayern, Tottenham will be able to match that offer and potentially bring Kane back to the club.
