Some girls, who were allegedly trafficked by a Nigerian woman to Ghana walked into a police station at Tarkwa in Ghana’s Western region on Thursday to report her.
The woman, who was identified as Victoria Omotayo has been arrested by police and 13 of the girls have been rescued, reports Myjoyonline.
According to Police Superintendent Kwabena Acheampong, Omotayo had promised the young ladies aged between 18 and 26, jobs in Ghana because her company was in need of sales girls
“She approached them and her parents and told them that she is a businesswoman in Ghana with a very big business and they are into sales, so she needs about four ladies to help her.
“Pursuant to this information, the ladies were given to her to come to Ghana.”

Acheampong revealed that the sales job never happened. Instead, the girls were forced into prostitution by Omotayo who further threatened them with death if they ever informed anyone about it
Sup. Acheampong said the girls walked to the police station to report their ‘boss’ at dawn on Thursday after two weeks of being forced into the illegal act.
“When they arrived in Ghana, their hair, pubic hair, nails, brassieres and panties were taken to put fear in them that if they dare run away, they will be killed, so out of fear they obliged,” the police officer said.
