Troost-Ekong wins best player of AFCON tournament award
Nigeria’s stand-in captain Williams Troost-Ekong has been named player of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Troost–Ekong scored three goals in the AFCON tournament and has been able to hold the Nigerian defence from the beginning of the tournament till the end.
South Africa’s goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams emerged the best goalkeeper of the tournament and won the Golden Gloves award.
Emilio Nsue won the Golden Boot award after scoring five goals in the AFCON tournament.
Simon Adingra of Cote d’Ivoire won the Young Player of the tournament award.
The Bafana Bafana of South Africa won the Fair Play award.
