Trump agrees to dissolve charity
The Trump family has agreed to the closure of their troubled charitable foundation under pressure from the New York attorney-general.
Barbara Underwood, the New York attorney-general, announced on Tuesday that the Trump Foundation had signed a stipulation agreeing to be dissolved under judicial supervision.
The state’s lawsuit is also seeking millions of dollars in restitution and penalties and to bar Mr Trump and his three children from serving on the boards of other New York charities.
“Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation — including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing and much more,” Ms Underwood said in a statement. (FT)
