The Lagos state government has announced two more fatalities from the coronavirus pandemic.

Akin Abayomi, the state commissioner for health, said the state recorded 82 new cases and two deaths on Wednesday.

The commissioner added that, with the figures, Lagos has recorded a total of 1,324 COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths.

“82 new cases of #COVID19 Infection were confirmed in Lagos,” he wrote in a post on Twitter.

“The total number of confirmed #COVID19 cases in Lagos is now 1324.

“37 additional fully recovered #COVID19 patients; 19 females & 18 males including an Indian have been discharged. The total number of #COVID19 patients discharged in Lagos is now 358.

“Lagos recorded 2 more #COVID19 related deaths bringing total deaths associated with #COVID19 in Lagos to 33.”

He also urged all Lagos residents to adhere to directives aimed at curtailing the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier on Thursday, Abayomi announced that at least ten persons at the Lagos state government house in Marina tested positive for COVID-19.

Abayomi said the development made Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of the state, and his wife, to undergo another test for the virus following their exposure to COVID-19 patients.
