The U.S. on Friday set a new world record in confirmed coronavirus cases, after over 7,000 people tested positive in New York.

More than 92,000 have been diagnosed with the virus. China has 81,340 cases.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the people killed by the virus in his state rose by 134 to 519 overnight.

Across the state, 44,635 people tested positive for the virus, he said.

The escalating positive cases in the U.S. came on a day that the U.S. President, Donald Trump disclosed he had a discussion with Chinese  President Xi Jinping.

He said both leaders are collaborating .

“Just finished a very good conversation with President Xi of China.

“Discussed in great detail the CoronaVirus that is ravaging large parts of our Planet.

“China has been through much & has developed a strong understanding of the Virus. We are working closely together. Much respect!”, Trump wrote.
