Kamaru Usman, Nigerian fighter, who suffered his first UFC career loss at the Vivint Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, on Sunday morning, has vowed to bounce back.

Daily Trust had reported how Britain’s Leon Edwards knocked out Usman to win the UFC welterweight championship title.

Usman had taken over the fight with his superior wrestling and slung heavy boxing combinations and seemed on his way to yet another title defense as he neared Anderson Silva’s record for most all time.

But Edwards flicked out a right jab and fired up a left head kick that knocked Usman out cold at 4:04 of Round 5.

The winner had boasted, You all doubted me, saying I couldn’t do it – look at me now. I’m from the trenches. I’m built like this. I’ve been doubted my whole life but look at me now.”

But reacting in a tweet minutes after the match was lost, Usman said, “Champs f$ck up sometimes… but we bounce back and come with vengeance!!”

Born in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria, on May 11, 1987, Usman’s father, who became a pharmacist in the United States, brought his family into the country when Usman was eight years old.
