A 200-level Philosophy student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Adeleke Ayomide, has been arrested for allegedly killing two other ladies after a report emerged that he murdered Christiana Idowu, a 300-level student of Pure and Applied Botany (PAB), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and buried her in his parents’ house.

Idowu’s parents reported her missing on August 19 after receiving WhatsApp messages from her abductors, including photos of her in captivity.

The abductors demanded a ransom of N1.5 million, and Idowu’s parents immediately paid N350,000 into a betting account.

Communication ceased after a final payment on August 23.

Subsequent investigations by security operatives traced the betting account to Ayomide, revealing a connection between him and Idowu.

Evidence from his phone, including details of the money transfers and communication with the victim’s family, led to his arrest by Nigerian Army personnel.

Ayomide reportedly confessed to killing Idowu and burying her body at his parents’ house.

Allegations also surfaced regarding the deaths of his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his biological sister in 2020 under similar circumstances.

Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said: ” We are aware of the case and have contacted the Nigerian Army.

” The 23-year-old suspect has been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command by 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army. Investigation is ongoing.”
