A beneficiary of the TraderMoni scheme was completely emotional when she met Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday, as she cried uncontrollably, thanking the VP for the N50,000 collateral-free loan she had enjoyed.

According to the VP’s Senior Special Assistant (Media & Publicity), Mr. Laolu Akande, who tweeted the video, Osinbajo was in Nasarawa State on official visit, where he had also met beneficiaries of the TraderMoni scheme.

She “was particularly ecstatic to receive the VP and Nasarawa State Governor,” Akande had tweeted via his verified Twitter handle @akandeoj.

The VP and his team seem impressed by the woman’s appreciation.

TraderMoni is an Empowerment Scheme of the Federal Government created specifically for petty traders and artisans across the country.

It is a product under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, GEEP, being a micro-credit social intervention programme of the Federal Government.

Loan facilities under the TraderMoni scheme range between N10,000 minimum and N50,000 maximum.

The target of the Bank of Industry-supervised loan scheme is two million Trader Moni beneficiaries across the country within a given period.
