Beyoncé, the Grammy-winning singer, says she is no longer motivated by music charts and sales.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, the singer said her career grew to an extent where charts and numbers are no longer exciting.

She said her latest album ‘Cowboy Carter’ is a testament to how she has poured her life, pain, growth, and dreams into art.

“There was a time in my life when charts and sales excited and motivated me,” she said.

“Once you have challenged yourself and poured every ounce of your life, pain, growth, and dreams into art, it is impossible to go backwards.

“I am very grateful and humbled for the extraordinary success of the new album.”

Beyoncé said she is, however, impressed to see the likes of Shaboozey, the songwriter, topping song charts.

“When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift,” she said.

“But when I see Shaboozey tearing the charts up and all the beautiful female country singers flying to new heights, inspiring the world, that is exactly what motivates me.”

Beyoncé is a global pop icon whose career spans several decades.

The singer is considered the most-awarded artist in Grammy history after winning 32 times.

In March, she released ‘Cowboy Carter Act II’, the second instalment of her country album.

The 27-track album had impressive features, including country legends Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton.

Also featured are modern hitmakers like Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Linda Martell.
