Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has called for the immediate expulsion of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, and other PDP members he accused of working against the party during the 2023 general elections.

The move comes after the PDP National Working Committee recently issued a warning to members endorsing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, stating that such actions would lead to severe sanctions.

Lamido made the call during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

According to Lamido, the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) must enforce strict disciplinary measures against those who openly undermined the party’s chances.

“All those erring members, the Wikes, the Ortoms, the Ikpeazus and others, who openly campaigned against the PDP in the 2023 elections, and who say that they are going to work for APC in 2027, should be sacked from the party,” he said.

Lamido criticised a culture of impunity that has plagued the party since the 2022 primaries, pointing to the prolonged tolerance of such behaviour as detrimental to the PDP’s unity and electoral success.

He further said he will continue to boycott the PDP Board of Trustees meetings until those members who worked against the party face sanctions.
