‘You’re obsessed with me’ – Salah fires back at Carragher after controversial social media post

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has hit back at club legend Jamie Carragher, accusing him of being “obsessed” amid ongoing speculation about the forward’s future at Anfield.

The Egyptian winger, who is in the final six months of his contract, has been at the centre of a heated exchange with Carragher, as uncertainty looms over his next career move.

Salah is now eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, intensifying the spotlight on his actions and comments.

Carragher, known for his forthright opinions, has been critical of Salah’s recent behaviour.

The former Liverpool defender took issue with a cryptic photo Salah shared on social media alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, which many saw as a subtle message directed at the club’s hierarchy.

Labeling Salah as “selfish” in earlier remarks, Carragher urged the forward to emulate Van Dijk’s composed approach to contract negotiations.

Salah, however, wasn’t having it. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, he responded: “I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me.”

Carragher, in a lighthearted reply, quipped: “I’ve always been obsessed with you. Hopefully, that obsession will continue next season.”
