Iheanacho nets winner in debut game for Celtic
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho made a huge mark for Celtic in his girst game since joining the Scottish side.
Iheanacho, who left Sevilla during the last transfer window, got his first goal through a late penalty to hand Celtic a 2-1 victory.
Iheanacho converted coolly after VAR awarded the spot-kick for a handball against Kilmarnock’s Lewis Mayo.
Earlier, Daizen Maeda had nodded the visitors in front before David Watson put Killie back in the game with an 83rd-minute header.
After the win, Iheanacho said: “Three points, massive. I asked the skipper to let me take the penalty and he said it was fine.
“It’s very, very important to make my mark on my debut. Hopefully more to come.”
