2027: Nigerians regaining confidence in PDP as party of hope – Saraki
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State for the successful conduct of its local government congresses across the 16 councils.
Saraki, in a statement signed by his press officer on local matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, on Sunday, described the exercise as a demonstration of the PDP’s commitment to inclusiveness, fairness and internal democracy.
He said the outcome of the congresses has positioned the PDP as a credible alternative capable of restoring good governance in Kwara and across Nigeria.
His words: “The PDP has once again shown that it is the party that provides a level playing field and prioritises the will of the people.
“The maturity displayed in Kwara State congresses is a reflection of the national character of our great party.”
He expressed confidence that with renewed energy and unity, the PDP will reclaim its place in providing quality leadership for Kwara State.
Saraki commended delegates, aspirants and stakeholders for their maturity and sense of responsibility during the exercise, describing the peaceful outcome as evidence of the resilience of the PDP family.
He also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the media for ensuring that the congresses were credible, transparent and orderly.
The former Senate president urged the newly elected local government executives to see their victory as a call to service and to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.
He said the success recorded in the congresses is not only a win for the PDP in Kwara but also a signal of the growing confidence of Nigerians in the party as a platform of hope ahead of the 2027 elections.
