JUST IN: Over N20 billion raised for Remi Tinubu’s national library fund
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has so far raised N20,456,188,924.93 for her proposed National Library fund.
The First Lady, who marked her 65th birthday recently, asked her well-wishers to donate to the fund.
She said the money would go towards completing the National Library headquarters in Abuja.
On Monday, she announced the amount raised, while providing an update on the progress of the fund.
Mrs Tinubu had gone ahead with raising the money despite criticisms from opposition party, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Opposition leader Peter Obi also stated that the move by the First Lady should not be encouraged.
