Outrage as Nigerians Demand Tough Laws Against Citizens Aiding Foreign Plots to Destabilize The Country
Amid growing outrage over the resurfaced “Christian genocide” narrative allegedly pushed by foreign lobbyists, many Nigerians have taken to social media to demand strict legislation against citizens who collaborate with external actors to destabilize the country.
The call follows revelations that some groups and individuals may have facilitated false reports to foreign governments, portraying Nigeria as a state engaged in religious persecution. Netizens argue that such actions not only damage the nation’s image but also threaten its internal peace and unity.
They insist that collusion with foreign interests to manipulate political or religious sentiments should attract severe legal consequences, including imprisonment and asset forfeiture. Many users urged the National Assembly to enact a “National Security Integrity Bill” that criminalizes the deliberate spread of falsehoods or lobbying that undermines Nigeria’s sovereignty, stressing that patriotism must take precedence over personal or political gain.
