2027 Election: Ondo APC Elders Vow to Deliver 1.5 Million Votes for Tinubu
The Ondo State APC Elders Movement has pledged to mobilise no fewer than 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Chairman of the Movement’s Steering Committee, the group said the projection aligns with the state’s current registered voter figures.
“The APC Elders Forum, after reviewing Ondo State’s population data, voter registration statistics, and the outcomes of the last five elections, concluded that with robust voter registration drives and sustained voter education, Ondo can deliver at least 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” the statement read.
The Elders Movement operates under the strategic plan “Ondo for Tinubu 2027”, directed by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. Chief Ekungba serves as Chairman, with Pa. Senator Farunkanmi heading the Steering Committee, alongside eight other members forming the Executive Working Committee.
The group also confirmed it has received formal approval from Governor Aiyedatiwa to use the name “Ondo For Tinubu 2027 Elders Movement,” designating the Governor’s campaign office at 12 Oyemekun Road, Akure, as its official state secretariat.
Chief Ekungba called on all citizens, including youths, women, and men, to join efforts in mobilising support for Tinubu. He stressed that the movement will avoid internal competition and will not tolerate activities that could divide the APC in Ondo State.
He further clarified that the movement is the only officially recognised Elders Movement operating under the Governor’s directive, warning that any other group claiming affiliation without authorisation is not endorsed by either the Governor or the Steering Committee.
