Forget Southeast Votes in 2027 if Kanu Stays in Jail — Cubana Chief Priest to Tinubu
Popular celebrity, Cubana Chief Priest has issued a strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the continued detention of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The celebrity promoter said the 2027 election will be a tough battle for the president in the South-East if Kanu is not released.
He made the remarks shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered judgment in Kanu’s case.
According to him, the political atmosphere in the region has become tense and heavily influenced by Kanu’s fate.
The businessman spoke in a lengthy Instagram post, expressing anger over what he described as growing resentment across the South-East.
He said support for the president is already collapsing.
“President @officialasiwajubat As long as MNK remains in jail you cannot & will never get up to 10,000 votes in South-East come 2027… Only MNK release can save you,” he wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest also took aim at ministers from the South-East, accusing them of failing to tell the president the truth about public sentiment. He said none of them has the political weight to win back the trust of the people.
He extended the warning to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, urging him to intervene and push for Kanu’s freedom.
According to him, the governor’s achievements could be overshadowed if the issue is ignored.
“To My Father @he_hopeuzodimma… Appeal This Judgement & Get It Right Or Get Ready To Check Out Of The Villa Come 2027… Southeast Belongs To MNK,” he added.
His comments come amid ongoing calls from different groups demanding Kanu’s release as tensions remain high in the region.
In a related development, POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that Nnamdi Kanu was on Thursday sentenced to a life imprisonment after the court ruled on the charges brought against him.
The judgment immediately triggered fresh reactions across the South-East, with several groups describing the sentence as unfair and politically dangerous.
