Group hails Seyi Tinubu’s installation as ‘Okanlomo of Yorubaland’
The Oyo State Chapter of the City Boy Movement has congratulated Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, on his installation as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
The chieftaincy title will be conferred on Seyi by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, on Sunday (today).
In a statement by its Director, Wole Aboderin MFR, Former SA To The President on NGOs Office of the First Lady on Saturday, the group described the chieftaincy title as a recognition of Seyi’s outstanding and consistent contributions to community development, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation across Yorubaland and beyond.
Describing the honour as well deserved, the group noted that Seyi had continued to distinguish himself “as a people-oriented leader whose values of humility, unity, and progressive leadership resonate strongly with the aspirations of the younger generation.”
It added, “The title, Okanlomo, meaning ‘a beloved son of the land,’ is a profound reflection of his deep connection with the people, his respect for tradition, and his unwavering commitment to service.”
The group reaffirmed its full support for Seyi, describing his life and leadership as a testament to selfless service, humanity, and impactful interventions that continue to inspire hope and development.
According to the statement, December 21 will not only be a celebration of Yoruba culture and tradition but also a reaffirmation of leadership rooted in heritage, service, and the collective progress of the people.
