4 Traders Kidnapped In Fresh Kaduna Attack
No fewer than four traders were kidnapped on their way back home after purchasing items at Maro market in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.
A source who confirmed the incident stated that the victims were travelling from Maro Market on Friday evening when they were ambushed along the Maro–Kajuru axis.
Recall that over 100 worshippers were abducted in Kurmin Wali, in the same Kajuru local government area of the State, last Sunday as efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims.
Speaking with our correspondent on telephone, chairman, Northern chapter of the Christians Association (CAN), Rev John Hayab, said he was yet to confirm the incident but appealed to government and security agencies to go after criminal elements. “We want to appeal to government to be strong and go after the criminal elements that want to cause problem in the state. Some people want to cause confusion in the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, a senior government official who pleaded anonymity to avoid Kurmin Wali incident denial, said he was waiting to get full details of the incident before reacting officially.
“You remember what happened over Kurmin Wali incident. I have spoken with security chiefs in the state over the incident and waiting for their confirmations before making official statement on the incident you are talking about. Give me little time, I will respond officially,” he stated.
Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, did not answer or return the calls placed to his phone line as at press time. (Leadership Newspaper)
