Bandits Release Remaining Olle-Bunu Kidnap Victims In Kogi After Collecting Motorcycles As Final Ransom
Bandits have released the remaining three residents of Olle-Bunu community who were abducted in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
It was gathered the victims regained their freedom on Saturday, January 31, 2026, after the abductors collected three motorcycles as additional ransom.
A local community platform, Egbe Mekun Parrot, confirmed the release of the remaining captives on Saturday, noting that negotiations with the kidnappers dragged on for days before the final conditions were met.

It was gathered that the abductors had earlier freed some of the kidnapped victims but held on to the remaining three, insisting on further payments despite previous ransoms allegedly made by the community and families of the victims.
Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area has in recent times witnessed growing security challenges, with residents lamenting repeated attacks, kidnappings, and the absence of sustained security presence in the largely rural communities.
Previously, SaharaReporters reported that five women abducted from Olle-Bunu community had regained their freedom after the payment of a N12million ransom raised by residents of the community.
SaharaReporters gathered that the victims were released following days of negotiations between community representatives and the kidnappers.
SaharaReporters learnt that the community raised N12million ransom through collective efforts by families of the victims, community leaders, and concerned residents, who contributed money to meet the kidnappers’ demand.
However, despite the release of the five women, three other abducted persons are still being held by the kidnappers, with fears growing over their safety. (SaharaReporters)
