Man Remanded In Prison Over Facebook Post On Nigerian Minister Tunji-Ojo’s Credentials
A 39-year-old Nigerian man, Emorioloye Owolemi, has been remanded in prison custody following legal action initiated by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over allegations of cyberstalking.
Owolemi disclosed on Tuesday that he had been remanded after the minister accused him of making claims that his academic credentials were fake.
The charges stem from alleged Facebook posts made on December 23, 2025, in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to Owolemi, the minister took legal action against him after he allegedly published statements on Facebook questioning the authenticity of Tunji-Ojo’s credentials.
Speaking on his ordeal, Owolemi said, “Tunji-Ojo has taken legal action against me, alleging that I claimed his credentials are fake.
“As I face this challenge, I leave my fate in God’s hands. The consequences of my stand for justice now weigh not only on me, but also on my wife, my children, and my family.
“Even though I obtained a valid order from the Federal High Court in Abuja, I chose not to pursue further legal action. I have done what I believe is right. The rest, I entrust to the Almighty.
“If I do not prevail, let this serve as a lesson to all Nigerians who are determined to stand for justice; the path of truth is not always easy, but it remains necessary.”
Court documents obtained from the Federal High Court of Nigeria sitting in Akure revealed that Owolemi is being prosecuted by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
