Union Dicon alerts public over inability to reach majority shareholder
Union Dicon Salt Plc says it has been unable to establish contact with Aims Limited, its majority shareholder, despite repeated efforts.
In a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Wednesday, the company said Aims Limited holds 64 million shares, representing 40 percent of its issued share capital.
The notice was signed by Alfred James, the company secretary, dated March 3.
“In line with the provisions of 17.5 Rule book of the Exchange 2015 (Issuers Rules), Union Dicon Salt Plc (Union Dicon or the Company) hereby notifies Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the shareholders of the Company, and the General Public of the following,” the notice reads.
“That Aims Limited is a majority shareholder of Union Dicon Salt Plc with a shareholding of 64,000,000 shares amounting to 40% of the issued shares.
“That Union Dicon has been unable to communicate or reach Aims Limited for a period of time despite several efforts made to reach out to Aims Limited.
“The company is using this medium to request that Aims Limited should contact Union Dicon immediately.”
Union Dicon asked the shareholder to contact the company at its physical address at Kirikiri Lighter Terminal, Kirikiri Phase 2, Apapa, Lagos, or through the company secretary via telephone and email.
The company did not state the reason for the communication gap or whether the development has affected its operations.(The cable)
