This version of Tinubu’s leadership is not what we hoped for, says Jaywon
Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, the Nigerian singer fondly called Jaywon, has voiced his disappointment with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In an Instagram post, Jaywon admitted that he had high expectations for Tinubu before he took office. He said, however, the administration has fallen short of what he and many others had hoped for.
“I can’t deny it, I had expectations from Tinubu, but this version of leadership is not what many of us hoped for,” he wrote.
Jaywon’s comments come amid growing public outrage over the country’s worsening insecurity.
One of the latest incidents was the abduction of students and the killing of a teacher in Oyo state.
Several Nigerian celebrities have also spoken up on the issue, urging the government to take more decisive action to tackle the security challenges.
British-Nigerian artiste Skepta recently criticised Tinubu over the insecurity, calling on the government to respond more effectively.
Speed Darlington also argued that Tinubu has failed to address the country’s growing security and economic challenges, saying he should not seek a second term in office.
“Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you are concerned about becoming the next president of Nigeria. But you are not qualified to be president again,” he said.
“From your first round, we know your second round is going to be hellfire.”(TheCable)
