London Mayor Fires Back After Trump Calls Him ‘Terrible’, Labels US President ‘Racist, Sexist, Misogynistic, Islamophobic’

The London mayor, Sir Sadiq Khan, has responded to a series of vicious attacks from US President Donald Trump in recent days.

Trump on Tuesday lambasted European nations and the London mayor for “suicidal” open-border policies that, according to him, are “destroying” sovereign nations.

He described Khan as “terrible”.

Trump said, “You’re destroying your countries. They’re being destroyed. Europe is in serious trouble. They’ve been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody has ever seen before. Illegal aliens are pouring into Europe. Nobody has ever — and nobody is doing anything to change it, to get them out.

“It’s not sustainable. And because they choose to be politically correct, they’re doing just absolutely nothing about it. And I have to say, I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor — terrible, terrible mayor. And it’s been so changed. So changed. Now they want to go to Sharia law.

“But you’re in a different country. You can’t do that. Both the immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe if something is not done immediately. They cannot — this cannot be sustained.”

However, reacting to Trump’s comment in an interview with broadcasters, Khan said, “I think President Trump has shown he is racist, he is sexist, he is misogynistic, and he is Islamophobic.”

According to Sky News, he added that the public would be left wondering why a Muslim mayor, leading a liberal, multicultural, progressive, and successful city, seems to occupy so much space in Donald Trump’s mind.

“When people say things, when people act in a certain way, when people behave in a certain way, you’ve got to believe them,” he added.

Aboard Air Force One en route to Washington following his state visit to London last week, President Trump said, “Khan is among the worst mayors in the world, and we have some bad ones…

“I think he’s done a terrible job. Crime in London is through the roof. The Mayor of London Khan, mayor Khan, has done a terrible job. And on immigration, he’s a disaster.”
