Tinubu’s Cabinet Pushes for Wike’s Sack as Presidency Split Deepens
Competent sources within the Presidential Villa have disclosed that a deepening rift has emerged among senior aides and cabinet members regarding the political standing of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Many of the President’s close “boys” are reportedly urging that Wike be relieved of his ministerial duties, arguing that his actions in Rivers State have overreached and exacerbated local tensions.
However, President Bola Tinubu remains hesitant to dismiss the minister, whom he regards as a loyal ally and “soft‑spot” figure. According to insiders, Tinubu values Wike’s past contributions, including his role in turning Rivers State toward the APC during the 2023 elections and his involvement in internal PDP disputes. The President is said to be weighing a politically amicable resolution rather than an outright removal.
The split within the Presidency underscores the complex balance of loyalty and political strategy at play, with no immediate decision announced. (247Ureports)
