PHOTOS: Kwankwaso On Ground As Gawuna Picks ADC Membership Card
Former Kano State Deputy Governor and 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The event took place on Tuesday at his Gawuna Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area, where he received his ADC membership card in the presence of former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and other party leaders.
Gawuna’s defection comes barely two days after he resigned from the APC, citing personal reasons for his decision.
The former deputy governor was widely regarded as one of the APC’s strongest political figures in Kano.
His exit from the APC had triggered reactions within the party, while his formal entry into the ADC has now confirmed speculations about his next political move.
Political observers say the development could significantly reshape Kano’s political landscape, particularly with the backing of Kwankwaso, who commands a strong grassroots following in the state.
