Malami’s Convoy Attacked Again by Suspected APC Thugs in Kebbi
The convoy of former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was again attacked on Friday by suspected political thugs in Argungu, Kebbi State.
The incident occurred shortly after Malami attended a wedding ceremony in the area. Witnesses said the attackers, dressed in APC-branded shirts and armed with sticks and other weapons, suddenly surrounded parts of his convoy, shouting insults and attempting to damage vehicles.
Although no one was reported injured, the attack caused tension among residents and guests at the event.
This marks the second time in one month that Malami’s convoy has been attacked. The earlier incident happened in September along Old NITEL Road in Birnin Kebbi, when hoodlums ambushed his convoy after he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque. Several vehicles were damaged before security operatives arrived to control the situation.
The recurring attacks have raised serious concern among residents and observers, who fear that political thuggery is gradually becoming a tool for settling scores ahead of the 2027 elections. Many worry that such incidents could erode Kebbi’s reputation for peaceful politics and worsen the state’s growing insecurity.
Security operatives have been employed to begin full investigation, ensure the safety of political figures, and bring those involved in both attacks to justice.
