Yusuf Buhari Finally Declares Interest In House Of Reps Seat

Yusuf, the only son of late President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared interest in contesting the House of Representatives seat.

Daily Trust had reported how some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) endorsed him to contest the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency seat.

But rising from another meeting this weekend, stakeholders of the APC from five local government areas in the Daura Emirate, vowed to resist the move to allegedly impose certain individuals as candidates for the area.

They claimed that a few individuals holding government positions were acting unilaterally, falsely attributing the move to Governor Dikko Radda, while insisting they would continue to uphold the party’s long-standing democratic process.

But in a letter dated April 3 and purportedly signed by him, Yusuf informed stakeholders of his decision to contest the federal legislative seat.

“I am extremely delighted to inform you of my intention to contest for this position, as I aim to contribute to good leadership and bring development to our people,” the letter read.

In a post on his X page, Ahmad confirmed the development, noting that the decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders.

“Following wide consultations, Yusuf Buhari, the son of our late boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, has informed stakeholders of his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency under the All Progressives Congress,” he wrote.(Daily trust)
