Bauchi State Chapter of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has appealed to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to join the party “in the best interest of the state and Nigerian democracy.”

The party assured the governor and his supporters of a stable platform, free from internal crises and litigation.
Addressing a press conference in Bauchi, the State Chairman of the party, Abdurrahman Yusuf Mu’azu—accompanied by the National Coordinator of the PRP Glory Restoration Group, Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris, and hundreds of supporters—expressed readiness to receive the governor.

“We want to assure him that his political interests and those of his followers will be fully accommodated within the PRP,” Mu’azu stated.

“We are committed to providing an inclusive platform where experienced politicians like Governor Bala Mohammed can continue to serve and contribute to national development. Our doors are open, and we look forward to building a united and strong political future together—even if it means surrendering our positions to him.”
On his part, Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris described the party as a credible and peaceful platform for the governor ahead of future elections. He noted that the PRP is committed to restoring its former glory and is known for unity and the absence of factional disputes, making it an attractive option for aspirants.

The invitation comes amid reports of Governor Mohammed’s potential defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PRP’s move follows similar efforts by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to woo the governor.(daily trust)
