Fuel Discount: Release Petroleum Pricing Template – Makinde Tells Tinubu
Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Alliance People’s Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to release the pricing template for petroleum products to enable Nigerians to understand how prices are determined.
Makinde made the call in Yola on Saturday during the APM North-East town hall meeting, where party stakeholders and candidates strategised ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He accused the Tinubu administration of failing to deliver on its promises, saying its policies had not significantly improved the country’s situation despite claims that it had solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
Makinde said the administration’s initiatives on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), electric vehicles, the naira-for-crude policy, insecurity and poverty reduction had failed to produce the desired results.
“Give us your pricing templates so that we can make our inputs as Nigerians, because government is for everyone not only those in the corridor of power,” he said.
The APM presidential candidate promised to address the country’s challenges with sincerity if elected, adding that his administration would listen to Nigerians and involve them in finding solutions to the nation’s problems.
He also promised to run a transitional government of national unity that would give Nigerians from the six geopolitical zones the opportunity to contribute to the country’s development.
“If given the mandate by Nigerian voters in 2027, our government will not allow one section of the country to dominate the system, rather it will be a transitional government of national unity,” Makinde said.
In his remarks, the party’s national leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, commended members and stakeholders for their support and cooperation in welcoming Makinde to the North-East.
Mohammed described the APM as a credible political platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges and urged Nigerians to support the party and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
He said the party is committed to resetting the country through policies and programmes aimed at improving governance, addressing citizens’ needs and fulfilling its campaign promises.
Speaking on behalf of the party’s governorship candidates in the zone, the Adamawa State candidate, Abdulrahaman Bashir Haske, said the candidates are working towards securing victory for the party in 2027.
He urged party leaders, members and stakeholders to intensify campaigns across their states, local government areas, wards and polling units to enable the APM to wrest power from the ruling party.
