The Lagos State Government will hold a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday over fresh repairs to damaged sections of the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway, including the Bonny Camp–Admiralty Way Junction and Victoria Garden City stretches.

The meeting, scheduled for 11 am at Lekki Toll Plaza 1 (Extension), Eti-Osa, is being organised by the Office of Infrastructure in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is listed as the chief host.

The planned intervention comes after rehabilitation work on other sections of the expressway, including the 20-kilometre Admiralty Way Junction–Jubilee Bridge, Ajah, corridor, which the state began repairing in January 2026.

The government has not provided details of the damage to the two sections listed for the new intervention, the cost of the repairs, the contractors involved or the expected duration of the work. It is also unclear whether the damaged sections were covered by previous rehabilitation contracts.

In November 2025, the state held a stakeholders’ meeting on the rehabilitation of the Admiralty Way Junction–Jubilee Bridge stretch.

At the time, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Infrastructure, Olutokunbo Oyenuga, said the project was expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.

The rehabilitation was disrupted in December 2025 when Sanwo-Olu ordered contractors to leave the site following public complaints about traffic congestion. Work resumed in January 2026, with the government announcing a 64-day rehabilitation programme for Sections 2 and 3 of the corridor.

In February, the state announced the completion of the nine-kilometre Chevron–Admiralty Way section on the Lagos-bound carriageway and released a traffic management plan for work on the Epe-bound carriageway. The plan included partial and overnight closures at several intersections, including VGC, to facilitate construction.

The government also announced an eight-month rehabilitation programme for the Lekki–Ajah corridor, scheduled to run from November 15, 2025, to July 15, 2026, in two phases between the First Toll Gate, Second Toll Gate and Ajah under-bridge.

The latest meeting is expected to bring stakeholders together over the repairs to the Bonny Camp–Admiralty Way Junction and VGC sections. The invitation does not state whether the government will also announce a construction timetable or traffic management measures.

The Lekki–Epe Expressway serves residential and commercial communities across the Lekki Peninsula, Ajah and Epe, making its condition and the management of rehabilitation works important to commuters and businesses along the corridor.(Punch)
