Kano Senator Weds Military Officer In Low-Key Event
The Senator representing Kano South, Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, on Monday, married Aisha Isah, a military officer serving in the Nigerian Air Force.
The wedding was held in the morning at the palace of the Emir of Rano in Kano State.
Sumaila’s media aide, Muttaqa Babire, confirmed the development in a Facebook post when he shared a picture of the senator with his bride in military uniform.
Another aide, Ahmad Tijjani Salisu Kiru, also posted: “JUST IN: Alhamdulillah, today 17-11-2025, Senator S.A. Kawu Sumaila OFR PhD tied the knot at Rano. May Allah bless the union with righteous children.”
There was no prior public announcement of the marriage, and pictures from the ceremony showed only a handful of people in attendance at the palace.
Senator Sumaila, who chairs the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), recently defected from the opposition New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). (Daily trust)
