Atiku flags off presidential race
Former Vice-Presiden Atiku Abubakar flagged off the race for the 2019 presidential election in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on Tuesday.
Speaking at an event chaired by Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, Abubakar pledged his commitment towards the creation of a new Nigeria built on the foundation of industrialisation and economic revolution.
He said the problem of Nigeria is not the lack of resources or skilled manpower but the lack of leadership.
Abubakar appealed to Wike to support him in his bid to lead the country.
Responding, Wike said the position of president is for an individual with experience and track record for excellence.
He said Atiku posses the qualities needed to make Nigeria great.
The event had in attendance Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun state; Okwesilieze Nwodo, former chairman of the PDP; and Michael Aondoakaa, former attorney-general. (The Nation)
