The leadership of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday condoled with the Adebutu family over the death of Dame Caroline Adebutu on Friday.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, it said it received the news with shock and deep sense of loss.
Amode said the matriarch of Adebutu Dynasty, Yeyeoba of Odogbolu and Yeyemode of Iperu and the mother of PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, was a woman of great value and uncommon virtue.
He said: “We are sure Chief (Mrs) Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Kesington was a woman of excellent qualities and had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation and so in death we should celebrate her for the indelible marks she left behind.
“Her legacies as the Matriarch of the Adebutu Kesington family and her charitable life will keep her alive in the minds of those who loved her and those she inspired particularly, her children, friends and relations.
“On behalf of the gubernatorial candidate of our party in Lagos State, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran – Jandor, the party Executives and members of PDP in the state, please accept our heartfelt condolence.”
Amode, also Chairman, Media and Publicity, JandorFunke 2023 Campaign, prayed that the good Lord would grant the entire family the fortitude to bear the demise of the mother of its governorship candidate in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the late Adebutu, was the wife of foremost pool merchant and business mogul, Chief Kesington Adebutu.
