A group, White Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria has advised the presidential candidates of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively to accept defeat, move on with their lives and stop wasting their time and resources chasing shadows by going to court.

They also urged the two party chieftains to sheathe their swords and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he strives to build a new Nigeria.

They equally advised politicians to stop wasting money on litigations by exploring traditional ways of knowing what the outcome of their matters would be before embarking on the journey of reckless spending on court cases.

Rising from an emergency meeting convened in Abuja, the spokesman of the group, Dr. Okhue Iboi, recalled that the group had held its presidential election before the February 25 election and President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had defeated the two major contenders at the keenly contested election.

“Atiku and Obi should accept the fate that befell them. We had already warned them not to go to the election petition tribunal, but when they insisted they were going, we too sat and analysed the petition of the two major contenders and the other fringe political party seeking relevance by filing a petition at the tribunal.

We weighed the petitions and evidence advanced by the two parties and discovered that they were replete with emptiness.

“So, we were not surprised that the five Lord Justices that decided the petitions threw them out for lack of evidence. We commend the bravery of the patriotic judges for not bowing to cheap blackmail and intimidation embarked upon on social media by the followers of Mr Obi.

We also frown at his acquiescence to the crude method deployed by his horde of social media landlords and landladies. He would have demonstrated rare statesmanship had he for once tried to rein in on his followers whose stock in trade were largely insults and mob fashion attacks on social media as if that method had ever won election anywhere in the world.

“Obi has more prospects. Let him play national politics, not religious or sectional politics. He could still go places, but he must get his politics right,” Dr. Iboi said.

According to him, Tinubu was sent by God to rescue the country from its myriad of challenges, adding that were it not so, he would not have triumphed over the obstacles placed on his way by the government he helped midwife.

Dr Iboi said: “Let Atiku, the retired presidential candidate, and Mr Obi, his son, cooperate with Tinubu to deliver this country. We, the witches say Tinubu was divinely sent because of the circumstances of his life, the battles waged against him, the betrayals from among his camp, and significantly, the currency confiscation and fuel scarcity on the heels of the elections, all designed to attract protest votes against him because his political party was on the saddle.

Recall that many people died because they could not get their cash to buy their prescription drugs because it was locked in the vaults of the banks by a cruel Central Bank governor.

“Tinubu didn’t start his presidential ambition on the spur of the moment. He began building bridges from the time of the late MKO Abiola. He was at the vanguard of the group that fought against the criminal annulment of the June 12, election won by Abiola.”

He said that politicians do not have to hurriedly rush to court after losing an election as the coven provides an opportunity for them to see what the outcome of their cases would be.

“We are not saying politicians should not seek legal redress in court. What we are saying is that we have provided a window for you to first see the futility or otherwise of your battles. If we examine it and found out that it is not worth pursuing, we would advise you on the next step to take. So, let the politicians stop rushing to court. We have an alternative dispute resolution mechanism in the coven,” he said.

He urged all Nigerians to see the current pains associated with the Tinubu reform agenda as necessary to fix the economy.

“Nigerians are passing through an unprecedented tough time occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal. Prices of essential goods and services have gone up astronomically. It is difficult for many families to feed. But this will not last for too long. It’s like the pains of parturition which must be endured for the continuity of life,” he said.
