Woman accepts boyfriend’s marriage proposal two days to starting his 20-year jail term
American rapper, Jason Jamal Jackson, aka 03 Greedo, has proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kei Bradley, just days before commencing his 20-year jail term.
Greedo gave his final performance on Monday at Los Angele’s Belasco Theater and got down on bended knee while performing his hit, “If I,” to propose to Bradley, who said “Yes,” reports TMZ.
Greedo pleaded guilty to possession of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm earlier this year and was sentenced to jail.
Greedo plans to continue releasing music from prison.
In June 2016, Greedo was charged with possession of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, court records obtained by Pitchfork show.
Sometime in April, he appeared in court in Amarillo, Texas, where he pleaded guilty on both charges and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The charges carried the potential for life in prison.
“03 Greedo will be releasing his music and continuing to change the world through his unique perspective and art during his incarceration,” said TK Kimbro with R Baron Group. “We are dedicated to keeping his legacy intact and growing until he’s back on the streets.”
The district attorney’s office declined to comment, saying the matter was still pending. A court official said Greedo was ordered to return for further proceedings on June 27.
Greedo has tweeted about the situation multiple times. “Never thought I’d have to retire the year I blew up,” he wrote, seemingly referring to the rise in popularity he experienced — and record deal he signed —in 2018.
Greedo’s latest collection, The Wolf of Grape Street, was released in March.
The rapper has openly discussed his previous run-ins with the law — he was released from jail on Christmas Day of 2017 following an incarceration for “missing court dates.”
Fans have taken to social media with the hashtag #FreeGreedo, which is now part of the bio on his official Soundcloud page.
