‘APC, PDP, Obi, whoever pays first owns me’ — Portable sets condition for 2027 election

Portable, the controversial singer, has declared he will endorse the first politician to pay him for his support in the 2027 presidential election.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the ‘Azaman’ hitmaker stated that any candidate or party who gives him money first will “own” his loyalty.
He argued that he cannot campaign while hungry and will only back those who can “help my life”.
Portable urged his fans to follow the same principle, advising them to vote for any candidate who provides financial assistance, calling such politicians “helpers”.
“My fan, do you have your voter’s card already? Who are you voting for? It’s the candidate that gives us money that we will vote for,” he said.
“The election is starting soon. Anybody that gives me money, that can help my life, is the one I will vote for.
“It’s anybody that gives me money that I will vote for. If APC brings money first, they are the ones who own me. If it’s PDP first, I will collect. Even if it’s Peter Obi, I will tell you to vote for him. I can’t be campaigning around and be hungry.
“Vote for anyone who gives you money. Vote for your helper.”
He stressed that his vote is a personal right and that politicians have a duty to offer financial support due to the widespread hunger in the country.
“I am the owner of my life and my voter’s card. Even if it’s Atiku that sponsors us and gives us money. People are hungry. Bring money, help me so I can help my people,” he added.
This is not the first time Portable has commented on politics.
In 2024, he criticised President Bola Tinubu for failing to offer him financial support despite his backing during the 2023 presidential election, saying he felt “used”. (The Cable)
