Why I Don’t Beg – Remi Tinubu
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Friday said she does not beg, declaring that she only works with whatever God provides as she urged Nigerian youths to embrace contentment, hard work and patience.
She spoke at the State House, Abuja, while receiving the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing, where she presented brand-new buses to the youth leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Explaining the source of the vehicles, the First Lady said they were donated by well-meaning individuals who support her initiatives, adding that she chose to pass the gesture on to the party’s youth wing.
“In this office, I don’t beg. God told me not to beg. It is whatever He provides that I work with and I am teaching you how to learn contentment and not be beggarly,” she said.
She praised the APC youth leaders for not making demands from her office, saying their attitude demonstrated selflessness.
“You have done well because you have never made such requests from my office. I am delighted because you need the buses to work,” she added.
Mrs Tinubu urged young Nigerians to avoid the lure of quick wealth, stressing that lasting success comes through diligence, integrity and perseverance.
“There is no food for lazy persons,” she said, encouraging the youths to cultivate discipline and patience.
Drawing an analogy from the eagle, she said young people should develop resilience and rise above challenges instead of becoming discouraged.
“You have to have the eagle’s mentality. When the eagle sees the storm, it laughs at it and sees how it can fly above it. That is what you should all do. You should always look for your own path and not because that person has it, I want it,” she said.(Daily trust)
