The Nigerian passport is ranked 191st in the world as of April 2024.

This is according to VisaGuide.World passport index that evaluates and ranks the passports of 199 countries and territories based on various factors to determine their strength.

The index utilises a factor called the Destination Significance Score (DSS) to assign a unique value to each passport.

The Nigerian passport has a score of 11.59 and his visa free to 26 countries.

It is only ranked ahead North Korea, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria and Somalia passports.

Seychelles passport is ranked the highest from Africa at 64th, Mauritius is at 70th.

At 98th position is South African passport, Lesotho is 126th and Namibia occupy 127th.

Meanwhile, the Singaporean passport is the strongest passport in the world, with a score of 91.06.

It is followed by the Italian, Spanish, French, and German passports respectively, to complete the top-five list of strongest passports for 2024.

In the ranking that was released in March 2024, by Henley Passport, the Nigerian passport was ranked 98th in the world.

It was a drop from the 97th position it occupied in 2023.

Nigeria’s best passport ranking was 62nd position which was achieved in 2006.
