As the world awaits the outcome of the Presidential Election in the United States of America, the US government has put stringent measures in place to ensure free, fair and credible elections.

A top prosecutor and Philadelphia District attorney, Larry Krasner, yesterday, while speaking with newsmen, warned election disruptors and riggers that “we are not playing.”

He sent a stern admonition to anyone that may be planning to disrupt the voting process that “we do have the cuffs, we do have the jail cells, we do have the Philly juries, and we have the state prisons.

“So if you’re going to try to turn an election into some form of coercion, if you’re going to try to bully people, you’re going to try to erase votes, you’re going to try any of that nonsense, we’re not playing.”

A Professor and Director of the Race, Politics, and Policy Center at George Mason University, Michael Fauntroy, condemned any incident of voters intimidation and sad commentary on the U.S. politics.

Fauntroy, who described the government’s zero tolerance as notice to potential disruptors, noted: “The truth is, there are groups in America who are using this as an opportunity to sort of put their own imprimatur on this election.”

He added that “some of that imprimatur includes voter intimidation, trying to make it more difficult for some people to vote which is problematic on a number of levels.”

According to him, they are still prosecuting people coming out of the January 6, 2021 insurrection and we may see some more of that in the aftermath of tomorrow’s election.

Meanwhile, a Pennsylvania Judge ruled that the Tesla CEO and billionaire, Elon Musk, can continue with his $1m-a-day giveaway to support the chances of former President Donald Trump to be reelected to the White House.

The ruling by the judge, Angelo Foglietta, that the giveaway to voters in swing states could continue in Pennsylvania 24 hours before the election was premised on Musk’s counsel, Chris Gober’s argument that the winners were not chosen by chance.

Krasner, a Federal Judge in Pennsylvania, had taken up the litigation against Musk and his Political Action Committee (PAC), who kicked against the $1m money to voters, describing it as illegal lottery.

He lamented that the illegal sweepstakes violated state election law and appealed that they should be proscribed and discontinued, but to no avail.

For the record, the Billionaire and his PAC had already given away $16m to registered swing state voters, who qualified for the giveaway by signing his political petition in line with the Make America Great Again (MAGA).

Musk’s lawyer, Gober, disclosed that the final recipient, who emerges from Michigan, will be awarded the last batch.(Guardian)
