Clearview Hospital marks nine years, expands access to IVF treatment

The Founder and Managing Director of Clearview Hospital, Lagos, Dr Kunle Ajayi, has said the hospital has earned an enviable position in delivering innovative and patient-centred healthcare to clients in the nine years of its operations, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to world-class medical services in Nigeria.

Ajayi made these assertions at an event held to celebrate the hospital’s ninth anniversary in Lagos, recalling that the facility had blazed the trail in combining cutting-edge technology, clinical excellence, and affordable care since its founding.

He said, “Clearview was never an overnight project. It was born out of a long-held vision to create a healthcare institution that would provide advanced medical services while keeping quality care accessible to patients.”

Over the past nine years, Clearview Hospital has grown from a modest practice with fewer than 10 employees operating from a single building into a comprehensive healthcare facility with more than 60 staff members spread across multiple buildings, now housing specialised units including an advanced fertility centre, a modern operating theatre, and paediatric services.

At the event, the hospital launched the Clearview Aesthetics and Lifestyle Medicine Clinic, known as the CALM Clinic.

The MD noted that independent assessments had placed the hospital’s IVF success rate at between 40 and 60 per cent, exceeding industry averages in Nigeria.

“Among the hospital’s most significant milestones is the remarkable growth of its fertility programme. Since its inception, the hospital has helped hundreds of families realise their dream of parenthood. He also stated that the hospital provided a comprehensive continuum of care, supporting patients from fertility consultation and treatment through pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal care under one roof, noting that the programme had helped hundreds of families realise their dream of parenthood since its inception.

The Medical Director said the hospital had significantly strengthened its neonatal and paediatric services through investments in incubators, ventilators, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machines, and other modern equipment capable of supporting the care of premature babies born as early as 26 weeks.

He attributed the hospital’s growth to faith, disciplined leadership, consistency, continuous investment in quality, and a dedicated workforce.

He said, “Building a hospital is not only about putting up structures or acquiring equipment. It is about building people, instilling values and maintaining consistency in the quality of care we provide every day.”

Reflecting on early challenges, Ajayi acknowledged that access to finance posed one of the greatest difficulties in the hospital’s early years, as the business was largely self-funded before financial institutions became willing to provide support after the hospital had established a track record of success.

While celebrating the hospital’s achievements, he called for greater government support for Nigeria’s healthcare sector, particularly through improved funding, better welfare for healthcare professionals, and policies that made the importation of medical equipment more affordable.

Clearview’s MD added that reducing the cost of acquiring modern medical equipment would enable private hospitals to lower treatment costs and improve healthcare outcomes for Nigerians.

Ajayi reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to giving back to society through charitable healthcare initiatives, including free medical treatments and IVF support for deserving patients.

He further stated that the hospital would remain focused on expanding its services, embracing medical innovation and delivering safe, compassionate and world-class healthcare that continues to improve lives across Nigeria.
