According to Senator Ademola who said he has ability to ”galvanise the general electorate towards ensuring a resounding victory for the PDP in the forthcoming polls”, his intention was based on his conviction that he can unite the Osun State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Conveying his intents in a letter written to the Osun State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the lawmaker who became popular with his energetic dancing sessions, said he’s not just from the strongest hold of PDP in Osun but also a financial member of the party, and as such, he can win the governorship election if he gets the party’s nod.

Davido who shared a photo of his Uncle’s campaign poster, wrote on Instagram;

‘Osun will be great again’.

In 2017, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the just concluded Osun west senatorial bye-election.

Ademola Adeleke, won in nine Local Government Areas in the district out of 10, polled 97480 to beat Senator Mudashir Hussein of the APC who had 66116.

Davido, however, in his reaction, described his uncle as the Nigerian Michael Jackson, noting that he had once acknowledged the Senator-elect in his song, ‘Owonikoko‘.

He wrote on Instagram, “LATEST SENATOR IN TOWN!! SENATOR ADEMOLA JACKSON NURUDEEN ADELEKE !! REMEMBER IN MY SONG OWONIKOKO.

“I SAID ‘AND IF YOU DANCE LIKE JACKSON OMO E KO KAN MI O’ THATS WHO I WAS TALKING ABOUT!! GOD IS GOOD!! WATCH US TAKE OSUN BACK!”

Senator Ademola Adeleke until April 2017 was a member under the All Progressives Congress. He however decamped to the PDP when he fell out with the leadership of APC over the bye-election to fill the vacant post of his brother, Isiaka Adeleke, at the Senate.
