The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic loss of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola’s only son, who passed away at the age of 24.
The devastating news broke on Monday while Ogunmola was reportedly on a film set. Her son, identified as Ayomikun, also fondly called Shina, was said to have died suddenly, though details surrounding his passing remain sketchy.
The sorrowful development was confirmed to the public by Nollywood star Odunlade Adekola, who shared a heartfelt condolence message on Instagram. His tribute quickly drew widespread reactions, with colleagues and fans flooding social media with messages of sympathy and prayers for the bereaved actress.
Ogunmola, one of the most respected veterans in Yoruba Nollywood and wife of comedy legend Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe, has been described as inconsolable by those close to her.
